The Roadmaster decks are only built on order and are only available directly from wefunk.

Note: The manufacturing of the Roadmaster series is dormant during summer.

Low humidity is key to proper bonding and a clean finish of the epoxy.

The limited Roadmaster series is handbuilt by industrial designer and F1 composite technician Alex Luxat in Cologne, Germany.

Each deck takes 20-22 hours, spread over one week, to get built and finished.
The technologies and materials used are a direct transfer from F1 racecar engineering:

  1. -Advanced Composites epoxy pre-impregnated carbon is pressed and cured in our proprietary vacuum-in-mold-heating process.
The quasi-isotropic layering and heatcuring provide a torsionally rock-solid deck that doesn´t get weak even when baking in the sun (not recommended but safe up to surface temperatures of 100°C/212°F). The prepreg carbon has to be stored deepfrozen at minus 20°C until processing. The advantages (perfect fiber/resin ratio, lighter and tougher laminate) outweigh the cost and handling efforts which are considerably bigger than those of common wet-laminates in other brands´ foamcore decks.

  2. -Airex "R" series, non brittle, damage tolerant foamcore and internal poplar wood inlays at the truck mounting areas provide a superlight deck that is responsive like a slalomboard.

  3. -European ash (long grained, tough and light) between carbon layers builds the standing platform and a tough outer rim.

  4. -The heterogeneous material mix of composite and natural materials of different density (poplar, ash, zebrawood) not only provides a stunning look but also helps dissolving vibrations, providing a natural feel and a damp yet incredibly responsive ride.

  5. -The board is finished with a 0.5mm zebrawood veneer inlay (signed, dated and numbered with pencil) beneath a UV reflecting "surfclear" epoxy hotcoat that is wetsanded, clearpainted and polished to a mirror finish.
